At the PunJabi Film Awards Morocco Gold was honoured and thrilled to be invited. We made a guest appearance at the dazzling Punjabi Film Awards 2019 held at Park Lane’s Grosvenor House. Why would we be there I hear you ask?

One of the wonderful features of life in Marrakech is that you get to meet people in ways that does not generally happen in the UK. Recently, we were delighted to meet the CEO of BritAsiaTV Tony Shergill and Moroccan Director Jas Kundi in Marrakech. When we explained our Morocco Gold extra virgin olive oil project and in particular the health benefits of extra virgin olive oil they were immediately enthusiastic.

The Asian community in the UK and elsewhere has some of the highest instances of heart disease. Whilst heart disease affects millions of people every year including heart attack, stroke, coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and heart valve problems a recent study showed that about 60 percent of the heart disease cases worldwide are South Asians.

Numerous studies have shown that high quality extra virgin olive oil like Morocco Gold significantly reduces the risk of heart related illnesses. The amazing health benefits of extra virgin olive oil includes:

  • Reduces the of risk of cardiovascular diseases
  • Has beneficial effects on ulcers and gastritis
  • Maintains the digestive tract in good health.
  • Helps to reduce blood pressure
  • Extra virgin olive oil helps control healthy cholesterol levels
  • Eases or prevents diabetes
  • Extra virgin olive oil lessens the severity of osteoporosis

Tony and Jas immediately linked the health enhancing qualities of Morocco Gold as a positive way of addressing some of the Asian communities’ health issues.

They kindly invited Morocco Gold to attend the dazzling Punjabi Film Awards. Punjabi Film (or ‘Pollywood’ as it is sometimes called) is now the fastest growing film sector globally.

We were further delighted with the tremendously warm reception two kilted Scotsmen received! We were further struck by some of the strong cultural similarities, the strong ‘clan’ / family bonds within each of our cultures.

A really great evening and our warmest thanks to both Tony and Jas for their wonderful hospitality. Also, a tremendous ‘well-done’ to all of the award winners on the night.
